AACHEN, Germany – September 6, 2019 – nablet today announced the availability of its new AI-powered video processing technologies which automate expensive, time-consuming processes: Shrynk, a highlight creator, and Heightscreen, a 9:16 video converter.
Shrynk analyzes long video (for example a soccer match or a movie), determines the areas of most interest (for example a goal or scene with intense action), and automatically creates a highlight reel. It uses nablet smart rendering technology to keep quality high by avoiding the need to re-render.
Heightscreen is a 9:16 vertical video converter. It automatically detects areas of interest in horizontal content, and generates a vertical version panned accordingly (for example a soccer ball going into a goal). Videos generated by Heightscreen have the benefits of landscape orientation while fully utilizing the screen landscape of a phone held vertically, instead of only 25% when using 16:9 video.
“Artificial intelligence and machine learning are exciting technologies that are available now to everyone,” said Muzaffer Beygirci, CEO at nablet. “In response to industry needs and customer requests, we have been evaluating these technologies and choosing the areas of biggest need to launch our first AI products. Creating highlight videos and mobile-optimized content normally require a great deal of human interaction. Today we are proud to announce Shrynk and Heightscreen as our first two technologies using artificial intelligence and machine learning.”
nablet’s AI products can work together, for example highlight videos created with Shrynk can be optimized for mobile viewing using Heightscreen.
nablet will be showing Shrynk and Heightscreen in stand 7.A06 at IBC 2019, September 13-17 at RAI Amsterdam. The company will also be exhibiting various enhancements to its codec, transcoding, video processing and MXF technologies.
