AACHEN, Germany – April 1, 2016 – nablet, a leading provider of media processing technologies, announced today that it has released version 2 of its MXF SDK. The Software Development Kit is a powerful set of tools supporting the most widely used broadcast formats.
The new version adds a number of features including:
- Extended support for new formats including the HDF and SF families
- Support for AS-11
- XAVC-Intra and XAVC-LongGOP muxing and demuxing
- AVID DNxHD muxing and demuxing
- Dolby E muxing and demuxing
- Improved “while function” for reading while writing MXF
- Ultra-fast modes to open very large video files quickly
- DirectShow filter for demuxing
- Gstreamer module for muxing and demuxing
The nablet MXF SDK supports Windows, Mac and Linux.
The SDK is already used in numerous products including the MXF Remuxer from netorium. The application remuxes existing MXF files into other formats such as HDF01, and includes a repair function which utilizes nablet mediaEngine for transcoding. The remuxing is up to 8 times faster than other comparable products in the market.
Also utilizing the MXF SDK is ScreenMux, an innovative new screen capture tool developed by nablet with Björn Adamski. It enables easy capturing of video from a computer screen directly into a broadcast format.
“We identified nablet to provide us with all components needed from image scaling, to MPEG-2 encoding, to MXF muxing,” said ScreenMux creator Björn Adamski. “As the exclusive supplier and single point of contact, nablet enabled us to smoothly implement the core features in our new ScreenMux solution—the first screen recording software to capture computer screen content directly to MXF.”
“MXF is an important strategic format for us,” said nablet CEO Muzaffer Beygirci. “We are very pleased to be recognized as a premier MXF SDK supplier to more and more companies in the broadcast world. As part of our MXF strategy, soon we will also release an MXF player and analyzer product to help to address complex questions that can come up dealing with a very broad range of MXF files out in the video universe.”
